Not long ago, many people doubted whether China could truly master automotive-grade semiconductors
— Not just design them, but test, certify, and validate them to global standards.
On October 28, that narrative quietly changed.
China’s first national-level automotive chip standard verification platform officially went into service in Shenzhen.
This isn’t just another lab opening.
It’s a signal — that China’s automotive ecosystem is moving from “can manufacture” to “can verify and certify”.
The platform houses 13 specialized labs, from environmental reliability and failure analysis to cybersecurity and performance testing.
With 80+ testing systems and the ability to validate over 30 automotive chip standards, it gives domestic chips the rigorous vetting once only available overseas.
In other words:
The road to a smarter, software-defined car starts with a chip.
And that chip must earn trust through verification — not just innovation.
Shenzhen just became the place where that trust begins.
A New Milestone for China’s Automotive Chip Industry
